The Youth Council is a year-round, youth-led forum that puts young people at the heart of LIFEbeat’s decision making and programme design. By taking part, you are shaping the future of our work and amplifying youth voice across our organisation.
Through regular council meetings and collaboration with our Core Team and Board of Trustees, the 2024-25 Youth Councils have strengthened youth leadership and confidence, brought fresh perspectives from London and the South West, and ensured that young people’s views informed the development and delivery of our programmes.
As we look ahead to 2026, we invite dynamic young changemakers to join us and help steer LIFEbeat’s mission of empowering young people, building creative communities, and driving meaningful change.

LIFEbeat Youth Council Goals
The goals of the LIFEbeat Youth Council are:
- To ensure that young people have the opportunity to influence the development of the LIFEbeat programmes, organisation and activities
- To ensure that the views of the LIFEbeat youth community are strongly represented to the LIFEbeat, core team and Board of Trustees
- To give young people a voice on issues that they face today and to ensure that these are incorporated into LIFEbeat’s central mission and programmes
- To provide an opportunity for youth alumni to gain skills and experience and to access opportunities to take action on the things they care about
