Over the past 12 months, we’ve all learnt to adapt to living in an online world, and the ups and downs that come with that.

In Spring, we were excited to be able to make use of Zoom to bring together young people from across the UK (and even further afield) for our first ever online Youth Leadership Programme. Young people from our Somerset and London residential programmes joined us for a 6 week wellbeing programme in which we spent time checking in and finding creative ways to have fun whilst discussing the various elements of our lives that keep us feeling physically and mentally well.

LIFEbeat programmes focus community and connection with ourselves and with others, so we were really pleased to be able to bring together young people who would not have been able to meet up regularly without an online platform.

Our Young Leaders will now be forming the ongoing LIFEbeat Youth Council, which met for the first time in May to discuss what they want to see from our residential programmes this summer and to represent the voice of the young people in the planning of our upcoming programmes.

Our next Youth Council session will be held in June and we hope to hold a further Youth Leadership Programme later this year.
